Craig spent two and a half years in the structured finance division of Standard Corporate Merchant Bank (at the time known as SCMB and later renamed Standard Bank CIB) focusing on structured finance solutions for both corporate and institutional clients. The transactional emphasis was on fiscal, regulatory and accounting efficiency. During that time he also headed up structured property finance at the bank. He then spent the next two years in the SCMB/Macquarie Bank equity derivatives joint venture focusing on the sales and structuring of equity derivative solutions,with a corporate and institutional client focus. Craig then moved to Absa Corporate and Merchant Bank (at the time known as ACMB and later renamed Absa Capital) to head up sales and structuring in the equity derivatives division with an emphasis on building the business. He was then approached by Deutsche Bank AG to join the Global Markets coverage team in their Johannesburg branch, where his focus broadened to special situations transactions. Whilst at Deutsche Bank his responsibilities encompassed building a distressed debt acquisition platform, principal equity investments, equity derivatives and structured financing. Recognising the opportunity for a niche investment advisory business, he decided to leave Deutsche Bank to pursue this vision.

Brad spent 11 years with Standard Bank’s Corporate and Investment Bank primarily within the Structured Finance Division, focusing on debt solutions for corporate and institutional clients. In the last 4 years of this period, he headed up the SBG team within the Structured Finance Division, focusing on innovative financing solutions for the Standard Bank Group. Brad then moved to Absa Capital, for 3 years, where he headed up the Structured Capital Markets team with a similar focus on innovative debt solutions for corporate / institutional clients as well as the Absa / Barclays Group. In addition he was a member of the Absa Capital Tax Committee, as well as the Capital Management Committee. Brad’s expertise extends to providing innovative financing solutions that are efficient from a fiscal, regulatory or accounting perspective.
